Flea Collars and the like

Once again we have problems

for out on the market

are impregnated collars

with vile pesticide

designed to persuade

fleas to change their location

terrible chemicals

in them reside

made knowing

the risks but still  there on sale

causing the animals

sickness and pain

but they’re  not the reason

they will be withdrawn

its the children

the humans

of course we’re  insane

they never should

have reached the open market

those producers should never

have

sold them at all

they knew the risks

but they made applications

and got through the cross checks

and by passed the school

of thought that was clear

they were horrible products

far far too toxic to be on a cat

or dog’s neck but clearly

that whole profit motive

clouds everyones eyes

and that’s really that

Now the EPA has agreed

to withdrawing

who knows the sicknesses

that there have been

they were bad for the pets

and worse for their owners

but kind of got caught up

in the corporate machine

in two years they will be

phased out of the market

people will still buy them

and some may get sick

but at least they are telling

you on tiny labels

that if you are made ill

you have missed a trick

A tiny flea

has been made even stronger

by our applications

of such toxic stuff

they clearly are here

to survive all creation

and no amount of toxin

apparently is enough

this is the arrogance

the crazy scientist

lost in production

seduced by the greed

of those checking balance sheets

their eyes were blinkered

to hearing the cries

of the children

that bleed

in their beds

lying prone

as the poison creeps o’re them

off school and sick

and where that does lead

its was all about selling

marketing banking

all about market share

and kind of cranking

up weekly output

that’s  what we do

its all geared to profit

but none goes to you
