Carnage at sea

Stood at the wholesale market
Thousands of fish sprawled
everywhere
Commercially we are wiping out
whole cities
Trawled and netted
just so much despair

Shops and restauranteur’s are now inspecting
Clearly many many family trees
Below the waves they are wiped out every which way
Trawlers in the harbour
Begin to freeze

Other species just one boat
Such carnage
Before the catch each one swam merrily
Gearing, lobster pots and paraphernalia
Being hosed down
and sluiced into the sea.
