Bala

North wales boasts the town of Bala
An amazing lake we see
Surrounded by steep mountains
Feeding the river Dee
A glacial lake so beautiful
Apparently we hear
A monster lives deep in its depths
Called Teggie and it’s clear
Seen in 1920 quite a while ago
But seemingly prefers it’s permanent snooze
Deep down below

Llyn Tegid is the lake’s name
A truly stunning place
Where we see the Arenig Mountains
Held in a soft embrace
Foxes badgers Otters
Squirrels are around
Red Kites often circling
And Buzzards too abound
A very rare Gastropod
Known as the glutinous snail
Wanders around the edges slowly
On its unique trail.

Heather Spruce and Rowan
Tree cover galore
It truly is a place of beauty
And all of Natural Law
I think has been appropriated
And certainly for me
visiting and sharing
Makes my soul urge, joyfully
