Yule greetings

It’s Thursday the nineteenth
December so soon
Not quite as cold
I think around noon
I might feel a meeting
With Two friends I know
Gloucestershires welcome
Leaves me feeling the glow

Mistletoe Holly
A December day
A winter wonder
Let’s wander away
Somewhere near the water
The lodestone perhaps
Near The wonderful candle shop
Kept under wraps

A winter solstice
Besoms away
Let’s watch the snow flurries
And the wild birds play
Come feed them ne’er fail them
Feathery friends
Some organic pasture
The message that sends

Tiny and flighted
Feathers afire
Pecking the icicles
Hearing a lyre
The wind in the eaves
On a silent retreat
A great Christmas present
Ensuring souls eat

Spindly legs
Clothed we can see
How to survive in the wilds
Let them be
Fed from our hand
Some seeds hopefully
Watch as they fly
And forever stay free

Wildness is wonderful

The lodestone is a crystal shop
In Bourton on the water
Close to the River Windrush
