The hunt is over And good riddance

The arrogant ignorant oafs in red
The hunt has ended
And now instead
Of seeing and hearing their raucous cries
The stench of terror in their eyes
The galloping hooves down the country lanes
The cries of the hounds
Out of bounds
The swish of a fox
Drenched in fear
Half drunk expletives
It was clear
The hunt was over it’s sell by date
It’s ugly chases we’re never great
The saboteurs and the angels knew
On this violent band
They would turn the screw

And they have
And they are gone

Good riddance I say
