Profits from the prophets

The Banks those massive powerful giants
Wallowing through the world today
Miserly counting other people’s money
When they say
Politically they are backing
Genocide and war
Boycotts. Sometimes work I hear
When other just ignore

The tragedy of violence
Of innocence laid bare
Investing in the companies
They really do not care
Other people’s families
Who may live far away
Who may love their children
But see them blown away
See their buildings demolished
Hear their mothers cries
Every which way anyone looks
Some of them realise

Investing in the enemy
Is not a bright idea
Prophets philosophical
Occasionally hold fear
The balance sheet when failing
Can sometimes be turned around
By thinking sympathetically
With one’s feet upon the ground

Loads of shares were held it seems
In companies and we
Now see Barclays changing tack
With some security
Of thought and mind
The massive vaults, considered obviously
And peace and quiet absolves them
From the glare of publicity

Personally I never did understand
Their plea
What was really obvious, and sacred for me
Wars and killing suffering and pillage
Seemingly
How can it be positive Elbit, apparently
Barclays no longer holds their shares
Success a goodly choice
Of course the bank seems quieter
With it’s less forthcoming voice
