Football with friends in Preures

There’s a terrible sadness about the cow
Often made pregnant and then learns how
To see one’s baby kidnapped and killed
Broken hearted it’s blood spilled
So that human beings can buy into
Drinking their babies milk
It’s true

Bovine babies need the milk
Human beings shouldn’t be
Drinking it for it’s been processed
And therefore, nutritionally
It’s dead and lifeless pasteurised
Homogenised and sterilised
All these processes all they do
Is extend shelf life, and thus profit too.

I got to know these cows who came
From a farm next door
Their claim to fame
Was they loved to play football with me
They enjoyed the knockabout you see
I loved them every single one
Playing ball with them was fun
I talked to them I sang to them
They seemed to really understand
Playing with them in the orchard
It was actually very grand.

Cows are mothers and how they pine
For their babies stolen down the line
Dairy farmers for me, I hate
The trade the stealth and the babies fate
The mothers know, it’s in their eyes
Really expressive and honestly wise
Human beings are dull and dumb
They drink cows milk
Which makes them numb
To the sensitivity of the cow
Money and profit which is how
The more we take from animals we
Become impassioned actually
We are gross we are crass
Unrefined are we
We force them into purgatory
