Billy came from Malaysia

Years again Billy
Came out of Malaysia
Loving his family
A wild joy was he
Captured and shipped over to
La Zoo America
Cramped up and sighing
It’s what the Zoo’s do

It’s about entertainment
The live souls are prisoners
Just about fed and their freedom
No more
No chance to forage
The food isn’t that fresh
Beaten with bull hooks
Wounds running raw

An every day beating
By idiot keepers
Torture is common
These great beasts do feel
The sharpness the agony
And their arthritics
Unlike the keepers
Whose lives are unreal

An elephant honest can turn around
Stomping
Can injure and kill keepers
If they choose to do
The arrogance displayed by bloody goon keepers
Some of them ignorant
Really all through

billy needs love and care and attention
He needs a sanctuary where he can go
Leave this shitty prison
Rest his long legs
Taste some fresh air
He does want to know
His memory takes him back
Home to Malaysia
The forest his family
His mother sweet soul
He can just about hobble
And remain joyful
The rest really not really
In his control.
