Awareness

That dog was sure
It was happening
Deep down in its soul
The countryside was moving
She took the messenger role
Strode onto the highway
Up to a great big truck
Tried to alert the driver
Feeling some added pluck
Barking out her message
Stop stay put Dear friend
The message is in my being
It’s out there it’s an end
To something something awful
The feeling is of woe
Stop the truck I feel it
Somehow yes I know

The truck stopped
Clearly questioning
Cause and effect maybe
When suddenly up ahead
Trees falling actually
A landslide of emotion
The hillside tumbling down
The dog has saved our bacon
For truthfully we would drown
Caught up in the hillside
The rocks the trees the wrath
We watched the huge crescendo
Right across our path
