BE leaves

Autumn’s just showing us
Winter soon will
Darken the evenings
And of course, will chill
The air in the mornings
And all through the night
When the wild folk will shiver
And not with delight

As leaves turn to golden
And, onto brown
And hang in the chill
Before falling down
The nutrient qualities
As they ferment
Where tHey have fallen
Truly heaven sent

Don’t sweep them up
Leave them where they fall
On the lawn in the garden
It’s good rule
To let the true nutrients
Be absorbed by
Time leaf manure
It honestly why

Insect will chew on them
Burying them they
Will slowly digest
And wither away
Leaf mulch or mold
A miraculous thing
Giving back to the earth
A reason to sing

Be leaving in Nature
Those residues
Maturing enduring
A valid fuse
That creates a rich ferment
For stored seeds that be
Waiting for Spring
And the new energy.
