Halal

It will be hard I think
Banning Halal
Ritual slaughter
Really I shall
Be very surprised
This killing we see
Is based on belief
And despite every plea
Very few listen
Very few care
The flesh eating public
Some unaware
Of the lack of stunning
The ultimate pain
The fear it is clear
As the blood starts to drain

Kosher and Halal
Historically
Happen, the animals few ever see
The agony caused the relentless pain
As the knife cuts the throat
And the lifeless refrain
Happens before us
A gushing of blood
It happens the flesh eating
The ultimate flood
Of slaughtering expertise
Into the mud
The darkly reception
The ugliest way
Death comes to those souls
Who face the dismay

So many immigrants now in our land
Like so many others they don’t understand
The killing time the ugliness we
Recognise sadly how it has to be
A slaughtering method with prayers
Called halal
Is happening more and more
