Beagles

Where is our thankfulness
Our gratitude
Our sense of obligation
So many heartless
Paid up oafs
An inflexible salvation
Torturing these wondrous souls
Loyal keepers of faith and strength
Forgiving in so many ways
Long suffering at length

Torture indiscriminate
Unmindful our desire
Actually we are villains
Terrorists so dire
Scoundrels in our white coats
Ruffians even scum
Mischief making blackguards
Whose action leaves me numb

Answering to the corporates
To their beck and call
Yobbo’s in their ivory towers
Vulgarity and all
They are a dark anathema
Casting aspersions they
Ride upon the back of angels
In a vile display

Those beautiful dogs
Are challenged
Threatened every hour
Holed up in their rotten cages
Treated to the power
Of evil men and women
Professional monsters who
Don’t even know what mercy is
They just haven’t got a clue

A wagging tail a sparkling eye
A beating heart affection high
Despite the hate despite the fear
They seemingly are very clear
Elevated by desire
Noble in their true attire
A sense of wonder in their soul
Allowing what is true control
Of course they yelp
Alone they cry
Many are tortured til they die
Peerless to the torturers hand
Who actually will not understand.
