Seduli

World Lion Day
A day in each year
When great African Lions
Were slaughtered at dawn
When the sun shines
A fantastic growl
A great hairy mane
Zimbabwe the country
Where the insane

Came to kill animals
Hunters they say
Up for a trophy
On a given day
An auspicious fellow
Created to be
One of the beasts
And seemingly

It attracted the low life
The hunting clan
Not particularly good shots
How it began
The great white hunters
With Rifle like guns
Who stalked the bold felines
And loved eating buns

They named a day after
These trophy millionaires
Who Entered Zimbabwe
Saying their prayers
Shooting the animals
Saying aloud
They won the trophy
Of which they were proud

Sedali one of them
Old rowdy souls
A lion that would growl
Remaining poles
Ahead of the others
This wondrous soul
Was shot on the day
World Lion Day
