Chocolate [West AFRICA]

Where does it all come from
A lot from Africa
Millions of people grow it
Poor slaves many they
Do not get a look in
Of the profits
I can say

Most can never afford
It
And as for taste
So few
Have ever tasted chocolate
As we know it here
Too poor they are
It’s true

Europe just loves eating
Chocolate and then the USA
Much earlier it came from South America
A way a way
A drink that was very bitter
Brazil and Ecuador
It then was sent to Africa
Who produce more and more
But the price we pay
Is cheap as chips
The poor souls suffer so
They do all the grafting
And the profit there is low
They cannot cover production
The profits are all here
And child slaves being regularly abused
Most of them live in fear

The finest chocolate
I can say is Pacari
It’s from Ecuador
The worst alas is Cadbury
Ethical consumers
Honest score
Mondelez International
Holds the bottom place
Which is truly awful
And I think a disgrace.
