A beautiful sun
The restful of light
From a wondrous blue sky
Quietly alight
With a sweet fire of Summer
The trees looking still
The forest holds many
Young Deer who will
Chance at a crossing
As the moon comes to call
With an owl busy hooting
On the sky wires, a call
Of a magpie an odd crow
In ebony all
His mates feeding rapidly
Before they return
To a roost for that boost
That so many yearn
It’s raining a bit
There’s some pink in the sky
The odd wispy clouds
The poets eye
Clearer by far
Over yonder to where
The Gade wanders freely
It’s sparkle to share
I sit with Wimbledon playing tonight
The wine bottles winking
The faeries might
Have absorbed the clarity
Most of the day
And will light up the bottle
In a magical way
Scallops of rain
On the window tonight
The sun wants to sleep
Giving off its tired light
Serenity calls out
Gaddesden knows
A slumbering giant
With rings on his toes.
Claudia is in Glastonbury singing tonight
I am holding fort here
