Gasping

Gasping for air
It just isn’t fair
We swim in the water
Yet what do you do
You hook us
You net us
Straight out of the water
As we start to die
That’s us on view

Slammed on the deck
Gasping the end game
All of us dying
A wretched
lament
Fish in the ocean
Enjoy the commotion
But netted and slammed
Our future is spent.
