Berkhamsted castle

A splendid castle that has stood
On fertile ground for so many years
Kings and queens have exchanged dreams
History no mystery
A deer park such a fine idea
No culling now,one has to say
Murdering wild life there’s no need
A fine Deer Park for them to play

Extend the castle grounds into
The wooden vales the tree lined lanes
Let’s watch the wandering steeped in soul
Peace and quiet let them extol
Beauty of this present day
A sweet reserve where wild souls play
Forever in the woodland where
Local people can but share
