Tribute to Ron

The Rollright King
Ron-Dudley Smith
Today at three
We all are with
His friends and family
To say goodbye
And thank him for being
Such a lovely guy

His smiling face
Was all we saw
His jokes and jovial way
Was more
Beautiful than much around
The king of kings
Young Ron we crowned

He always had a go at me
And of course I loved that actually
Joy could have been his middle name
And coming to Rollrights
Won’t feel the same
Welcoming, happy, gratified
Radiant and starry eyed
All these attributes For Dear Ron
Who began a journey
And has now gone

Not far away to a wooded grove
To entertain the wild ones there
His shadows no doubt will remain
In and around the stones we share
Being lovely a quality
That honestly one doesn’t see
That much
of these days but He
Was as I say extraordinary

Today at three
We hope to be
Some where close
To the stones to see
And hear a ritual for Dear Ron
The man the druid the gentleman
From Rex who was infact
a fan
