A beautiful people

A beautiful people
Indigenous we
Palestine lovers
Close to the sea
Up against cruelty
Intolerance too
Sociable people
With dreams just like you

Moved pushed about
Gregarious we
We have much pride
But are reputed to be
Animals that’s what the Zionists say
But we are angels
And await the day

When we have a country
A state of our own
Away from their arrogance
Their boastful tone
We Palestinians
Are noble as well
Observing our families
A benevolent spell

Fear is all around us
Threats night and day
Black clouds and menace
We are thankful to say
Our families are everything
Our children too
Being threatened and shot at
What can we do

Under occupation
In honour we stand
In awe at the blue sky
On Rafah land
Upright and ready
Our integrity
Really soul searching
And hoping to be

Given our land back
Our morality
Justice we seek it
Our validity
Condemned out of hand
It is no place to be
Camped out on the sand
Starving regrettably
