Blue plastic bags

80 bodies returned today
By Israel we hear
Taken from the graveyards
Nobody is clear
Death the great finality
So much sadness they
The Palestinian people
Cry their hearts out
Day on day

Nobody knows for certain
Who these bodies are
It’s pretty awful really
160 so far
All are unidentified
Martyrs so to say
Somebody’s dear relatives
Have been made to pay

The bombings are relentless
Evil stalks the earth
Every one loves everyone
Everyone has worth
The sadness that we pick up here
Is gruesome to be sure
Everybody pays the price
For this dark grisly war.
