Spoon

Hewn from a chunk of Willow
With an axe
And a knife and skill
With patience and endearing care
And of course with will
Power to craft with elegance
That innate ability
To fashion something beautiful
From a kindly Willow Tree

A work of absolute genius
Calm simplicity
Faultlessly demanding
With true ability
I love the spoon
It’s special an assignment
One might say
To get this gift from you Dawn
Well it just blew me away.
