Shane

The Emerald Isle
Shares its farewell
For the poet himself
One Dear
Shane
MacGowan
The foot tapping heart happy
Spirit
one valour veiled
Songster supreme
He sure was proclaiming
Audaciously flaming
The Pogues
And he so loved to dream

A serious sense of the genius boy
Liberated by song
By tradition was he
Redemption salvation
A freeman of Ireland
Of course he could be

Suffering surrendering surely
Suggesting
The light of loves telling
Each lilting refrain
A passionate spirit
A mercurial master
Conscious and mindful
Again

“Your the one”
He with Moyà
Sweetly and soothing
Closeness and tenderness
Words everyone
Bouquets and florals
Leaving Liverpool buzzing
Gravel and throaty
Under the sun
