Donkey serenades

What are they thinking
Out in the shine
Tasting the wild plants
So so divine
Crunching on hay
In the hours of the day
Dreaming of yesteryear
With so much to say

The solace of friendship
The countryside round
Being looked after
Our feet on the ground
Nothing but kindness
reminiscing we be
Remaining gentle
And permanently.
