Monkey business

In pursuit of happiness
A rubber tyre
Dusty as hell
The disservice it’s all mine
Before, it was prior
To just here on the street
A wheel on some bus
And now it’s my seat
For this chimp no fuss
Haggard and lean
Misery strewn
Afflictions galore
The world out of tune
Scuffed knees and toes
Eyes really sore
Pain is my master
Peace is my war

Listening to brothers in arms dire straits
Looking at a picture of a dishevelled monkey sitting on a tyre
In a dusty street
