“budi”

So much ignorance about
So much arrogance about
Wild orangutans are the victims
For palm oil no doubt
Rainforest heaven has gone
Palm oil hell now upon
Matriarchy patriarchy
It goes on and on

Orphans are now
Unfitness and how
Maladjustment
Conflicting
Incompatible row
Inadequacy
To a unique degree
Little Budi
In a chicken coop
In obscurity

No mother around
He lived on the ground
Nobody loved him
Nobody cared
His diet was poor
His abilities raw
Separation from a parent
How could he have faired

Survival skills
Harmonious thrills
Limbs were swollen
Too much sleeping
Pain and upset
Control
He hadn’t learned
How to be concerned
Integration salvation
So good for his soul

He needed to climb
And not too waste time
Choose nutritional food stuff
In season and good
Boundless and free
Unmistakingly
Fed watered and sailing
And variety
Let it be.

Budi he suffered
His muscels were weak
So much to learn
He was not at his peak
he needed to learn so much
Needed to be
Taught for survival
For his destiny

Recently grown up
And raring to go
Lady Luck and hard work
And vigour on show
So much to learn
Resistance and power
A skill set on food
And really on how

Wildness
The space
The arborial acreage where
Wide ranging great heights
With loads to compare
Mounting and bearing and hanging
Around
Nursing and nesting
High above the ground

Ducking and diving
And leaping and flying
Plummeting headfirst
Just death defying
The force of gravity
And equipoise
Timber and lumber
Multitude voices
Massive dendrology
So many choices
