Lament

In the dark throes of death
Far too early I say
It’s all on its face
They forced life away
Broke into his soul
You can feel his dead eyes
His pain and his suffering
He was so wise

Murdered for profit
His life stolen away
He had hope he had prayer
Life was his his mainstay
But humanity took him
Tore out his heart
To be eaten by people

Look into his eyes
Feel those sad eyes
Hear his quiet snorts
Try to realise
He perished in agony
Stolen away
To be wasted in fact
On a hot Summers day.
