Gorse

From April to May
Gorse gets away
Right up till June
It’s abundance we see
Rich golden blossoms
Pure tranquillity

Grows on the edges
On spikey green
Jam packed with nectar
Bee’s and Butterflies
Wean
themselves
all that sweetness
Drives them to be
For what they have spilled
Fulfilled and happy.

Flowers steeped in tea
Or salads this gold
Floral experience
In it I am sold
Exuding from forests
A great wealth of flower
Brimstone and saffron
In its own golden shower
