Fear and flight

Fear and flight
Can it be right
Saddled up and on their way
Jockeys silks
Whips and heels
Expletives loud
The betting deals

Weakened legs
Glyphosate
On the hay
At a rate
Seen as glycine
But alas
Glyphosate
Really is crass

These big races
Over sticks
The grand National
Many dicks
Betting on the favourite to
Be placed it seems
It’s what folk do

All the crowd
And noise about
Bells and whistles
Fear and doubt
Galloping throngs
Sweating white
Let’s all run
With all our might

Racing is a dreadful game
Injuries it’s what some claim
Blood and bounce
And sweat and soul
Broken bones out of control
