“Dark Raven”

“Dark Raven”just another casualty at Aintree
Today
Racing it’s debasing and a bungling display
Of Lassitude and lethargy
Ergonomics lost in flight
Immobility
The poor soul felt the captive bolt
And to the Summerlands
A horse fore armed and saddled reached its own quick sands
And A whirlpool of destruction
The menace lay ahead
A jockey forcing the horse to strive
Until the soul lay dead
