Buck Palace

2010

twelve years ago

her majesty clearly

worried, we know

its a big area

rooms everywhere

old masters new masters

it doesn’t seem fair

antiques a plenty

Carpets  galore

corgi’s to feed

and it gets  raw

she clearly wants comfort

i mean she’s the queen

a lap of luxury

we would be mean

as low income families

to query requests

from the Queen to be helped

That’s where the  case rests

the State Poverty Fund

Sixty  grand  was her claim

Rodin and Rembrandt

They would not feel the same

huge castles and houses

Yachts, even a train

decked out with everything she wants

So fair game

its just sixty thou

Buck  Palace  the place

We can afford it

What  a disgrace

shut it all down

send her away

she loves Balmoral

Thats what they say

a room in a castle

a horse in a stall

the dogs in the kennels

her maid in the hall.

sadly the ministers many were peeved

if it wasn’t a  FOI

Who would have believed

That the Queen  of all people

could not pay her way

And was rebuffed

at the end of the day

the corgi’s food bowls

were just lumps of  ice

if she reported that

it wouldn’t sound nice

gold leaf everywhere

does not pay the rent

falling over antiques

no ma’am it’s not  mean’t

of you

all those rooms

Shut them  down

stay in two

then the energy bill

you will manage
