sperm whales
washed up sadly dead
respect the human population

with industry with shipping
with oil yes there’s a buzz
human beings behaviour
our noise is everywhere
our plastics thanks to supermarkets
purveyors of despair
then commercial fishing
long lines and nets and pots
discarded gear is everywhere
lots and lots and lots
sea birds turtles shoals of whales
mistakenly consume
all this plastic every day
and the imminent death resume
beached across our coastal strands
death’s finality
stomachs full of plastic waste
starving actually
stomachs full to breaking point
but starving just the same
disrespect and dishonour
no matter what people claim
dumping waste into the sea
it happens everywhere
our oceans are our dust bins
Less and less aware
its outrageous all these cruise ships
commercial fishing they
leave behind their nets and lines
every flipping day
by catch is now paramount
Our pollution stinks
the creatures must despise us
we set down the links
these 13 Sperm Whales stomachs
were jam packed with our shit
opening up their bodies
the madness well it lit
Up the eyes that witnessed it
even a car engine there
Miles of fucking fishing line
really has to scare
the living daylights out of
all of sanity
we are a bunch of wasters
and dumpers obviously.
