Julian

He told the truth
That much was clear
We saw what happened
We felt the fear
We saw the killings
We heard the fire
Innocent operatives
Over the wire

Truth was his crime
Exposing the lies
Banged up in Belmarsh
We realise
Our world is sad
The kids lost their dad
He is no criminal
He isn’t bad

What we do to angels
Is treat them like crooks
It weighs on the family
See how it looks
Innocence falters
Tragedy too
And Julian’s left
Knowing
what he can do

Sit there in Belmarsh
As life passes him by
One thing we know
He has tears in his eye
As do we we who wait
For the world to see right
And release him
And soon
Back into the light.

I
a family in stress

a man in a cell
