The long March

A motley crew

unpredictable too

a hot  potch smorgasbord

walking mosaics

inconsistent

for me a big reward

An affinity of pageant

assimilated, they

the fabled fey took us away

and left us overawed.

Stilts and drums

And the weirdest sounds

horns and hats we see

up the high street

Quite a  mass

people three by three

laughter joy and happiness

green crowns faces be

flags and banners capes and whistles

Towards the  famous Tor

everyone excited

even those who from before

walked these streets remembering

the early summer and

the blossoms and the skies of blue

paying homage to the land

Glastonbury has awoken

Its artistry galore

any similarity with anywhere else

honestly folks .

ignore

those who ever imagine

the place is not unique

its originality

Is really  what we seek
