Butterflies the world denies

yesterday

was Butterfly day

imagine that will you

the irreverence of human beings

and what they  choose to do

import them in small packets

in envelopes we see

release perhaps at weddings

Violation tragically

unhallowed and unsanctified

sanctimonius  duplicity

many die in transit

confetti teased and free

they  are just now sacrificed

at the butt end of the day

a kind of ugly orgy

no sentiment at  all

a lack of faith

so horrible

breaking  every rule

butterflies once beautiful

their delicate refrain

a fetish  for these sicko’s

with so little to gain

otherworldly spirits

emerging wings of fire

broken  and dishevelled

their circumstances dire

lifted from their farcaway homes

to where they are today

release a fluttering circumstance

And its Death The price they pay

14th March   butterfly day
