Blood cobalt

the pitiable suffering

nothing is green

electric cars

the whole thing is obscene

the Democratic republic of Congo

creates

open cast tunnelling

distressing  traits

China is mining cobalt all day

the DRC npoor have little to say

They are getting up early

working on the slag

mining for cobalt

just all they can grab

children are dying

thats what they do

its corrupt as hell

all this stuff it is true

women and children

climb up the hills

search for the cobalt

it gives me the chills

the

chinese are buying

from the artisans who

are risking their lives

its what people do

so much discomfort

chagrin and remorse

displeasure and fretting

really from source

tunnelling’s happening

they do not shore

cobalt and copper

there is just more and more

tunnels falling in

many are dead

its really Blood Cobalt

that what is said

the poor getting poorer

the chinese they steal

all the best cobalt

for them life is real

electric cars selling

governments say

it pays to buy green

at the end of the day

but its total corruption

nothing is green

children are dying

the stories obscene

china is earning

the DRC sighs

Losing a fortune

we can’t realise

its harsh and its rough

its a real bitter pill

trials and tribulations

but the child slaves are still

loading up sacks

with the minerals found

just bits of kids

lifting sacks off the ground

mothers lamenting

burying sons

Dour and broken hearted

the whole business stuns

families many cannot afford school

theres  a dullness for life

they  are all unresponive

And stricken with strife.

schools run by nuns

religion we see

goodness knows what happens

Nobody’s free

They want  to be teachers and doctors they say

but  who  knows what happens at the

end of the day

so many obscenities  now  everywhere

and the poorest of  parents who

remain unaware.
