A samaritan

today i found a magpie

looking the worse for wear

clearly most uncomfortable

his black and white

stained with blood

his painfulness  aware

was clearly on his mind

an accident had befallen him

his chivalry a bind

lying there i picked him up

wishing him god speed

i could only feel affection

and a hope he could succeed

magpie hospitalisations

are not common place

rest and care though i could  share

and treat him with some grace

tell my friends on facebook

and hope someone will know

how to help our little friend

And really just show

due respect  and loving

some rescue remedy

some soft words keep him from the draught

and give him love from me .
