Bronze Elephants

I am not so sure

bronze Elephants

represent our friends

statues tend to replace

the living

is that where it ends

zoo’s and parks and circus

are not what Ele’s need

living and caring and loving

souls naturally  that breed

in the bush in social groups

life spent  naturally

artistic impressions

is a dose of pedantry

conviction and persuasion

the expectation we

have when seeing ele’s in the wild

just has to be

Meaningful and significant

affirming to us  that

living souls asserting

their existence

is where we are at
