Crich

There arn’t that many people in the South really I fear
Who’ve ever heard of this small town in Derbyshire, its near
To one great monstrous landfill site
Owned by of course Rolls Royce
Hilts Quarry, thats where they put COBALT 60
Yes no choice
Carbon 14 it comes out of Fleet’s re-active cores
Formed from fissured limestone unlined
Out of their stores
Free tipped into, 2 metre holes
Straight on foundry sand
Despite a primary school nearby
Which most can’t understand
They knew that Cobalt 60 had got into the streams
But Defra’s ears appear closed shut
They failed to hear the screams!
Above the constant clatter of marine power on the hill
Nuclear Waste it must be faced is now with us until
The Government gets wise to it
And says aloud that they
Must pack up and get out of Britain, its the only way
Communities should never have to suffer as they do
Living in such awful places
The thought comes sailing through
A strategy to get disposal firmly on the map
We owe it to our children
Fight on Lad’s lets cut the crap!
