“SISO”

I want you to try and imagine
What its like for the great whales
To be
Sharing their oceans with plastics
Clogging us up tragically
The beaches are scattered with
All sorts
Ignorance With a capital I
This poor sperm whale
Caught in a net that became
His grave though he really did try
And struggle like mad to get out of there
The coastguard was on hand as well
All those Plastic bags in his stomach
Just tossed away
By the so many selfish
There in the spray
Bobbing along a hindrance to all
And an obstruction in his gut wall

This poor soul in agony
Lover of life
Died in a crescendo of such
Utter strife
Caught up in the moment
Struggling hard
And with all of that plastic inside
Which had scarred
His soul and his feelings
Fatigued and lost
When life was leaving him
His regrets how they had cost
His honest euphoria
Of the ocean his home
Of the places he loved
And where he did roam

Of the few friends he knew
And loved like family
Caught up in this maelstrom
Of netting that he
Knew was Hurting his skin
As he struggled to free
Himself from the rigors
And mortally
He Perished alone
At The Cape of Milazzo
A most beautiful spot
His tears fuelled the tide
Sea Shepherd remembered
And used his name
That beautiful soul
An Aeolian flame

His bones and the net were Collected by Camelo Isgro who placed them
In the castle of Milazzo in his honour
