The skylark

Of dullish coloration
on farm and heath it
delightful song
at a higher frequency
when close by  the wind farms
when it’s strength and clarity
rises and encapsulates
the heart and soul and we
can marvel at its  melody
for all the world to be

enchanted  it can warble
for minutes in the air
the male a proper minstrel
so willing to share
pesticides have killed off
 Many in the great UK
its found a lot in Europe
but farming one can say
has seen off many a skylark
winter sowings abound
Which upsets the lark feeding
Directly  from the ground.
