The ungodliness and iniquity

of how decisions made

the principle of evil

as the months did fade

into years and into decades

and still a m deathly hush
as a whole place lost its footing

a sick and soulless rush

of blood that must have morally

realised theIr shame

as hundreds died for nothing

and none of them found fame

CHELYABINSK they called it

a plutonium production place

wbich in 1957

failed and the disgrace

As many found their heaven

prisoners on death row

took five years in the making

of this facility, we know

with temperature hit baking.

7000 souls

from Labour Camps

conscripted into their rightful roles

underground ‘twas clearly harsh

and encroachment we can say

under a sinister cloud of death

they clearly worked away

Anotohka was constructed in 18 months

and they

clearly suffered many wrongs

and were made to pay

the MAYAK secret complex

development and research

MOST of them were prisoners
surely we won’t Besmirch

their names they took their oath

to earnestly work away

and do the job expected from them

despite the length of day

25 years hard labour

reduced to 5 years there

building this massive complex

resulting in much fear

they had no realisation that

none of them would be

able to receive their freedom

it was kept from them you see

construction was dangerous
radiation everywhere

exposure was a death sentence

breathing and working there

the inexcusability

and immorality

of forcing labour to work in hell

in such depravity

they had no rights whatsoever

unpardonable in fact

the whole time it was discriminatory

they were being attacked

really on all levels

unbeknown as they

were suffering such ruthlessness

at the butt end of each day

within 90 square kilometres

100,000 souls lived and breathed

and went about their lives

all unaware

of the monster in their very midst

and the dangers they might share

it was a secret complex

untried and untested, they

Never had the true controls

that we might expect today

and the environment was suffering

the radioactive waste

went into the TECHA RIVER

the people there disgraced

to find out somewhat later

that the water they were drinking

was being contaminated

but nobody was thinking

24 villages along the river

it was their only source

And became entirely Injurious

in fact a deadly force
and with sickness being reported

They dumped the waste elsewhere
into Lake KARACHAY

But said nothing

and it was way

More dangerous

so they covered it entirely with

barbed wire

and just kept on dumping there

and it became more dire

in 1957 a containment sector

failed

and exploded

as for the authorities

They should have all been jailed

250,000 souls were affected

but so few

were actually evacuated

and of course none of them knew

By 1959 every tree within 12 miles

Had died

rotting on its pitiful stump

As to why that was denied

in 1967 a horrendous drought

occurred

the water level within the lake

went down

And in a word
radioactive dust clouds

and gale force winds
did blow

exposing some 500,000 souls

to fallout

which did grow

120 million curies in the

dreaded lake

at Chernobyl a million were released

So For all our sake

disaster was inevitable

and the authorities ignored

the risks to man and beast were huge

underground where it was stored

Where they had built an underground city

with rare exotic food

wines and precious liquor

expensive clothes To suit

jewellery befitting emperors we hear

and all this blown to kingdom come

the agony and fear

by 1951 it was the most contaminated place

on earth

cancers birth defects tragically a dearth

of purulent suppuration

of evil beyond the souls of man

which denied them their salvation

sjnce 1978 they have tried to clean It up

filling the lake with hollow concrete blocks

its now no more

TECHA RIVER ‘s barbed wire has rusted

beyond repair

from 1945 to 1948 waste was flowing into

the OB and then the Arctic Ocean

all six reactors on Lake KYZYLTASH

received the darkest lotion

in 1957 more failures and more waste

Just one huge conflagration

they wiped the memory from the maps

the city was no more

what happened to the people

you guessed it gone for sure

that was during the soviet times

and in 1994

they renamed it OZYORSK

although now I am not sure

the pollution and the half life

of the waste it seems to me

the dangers are forever there

its not a place to be

the risk of nuclear clearly

to this planet are beyond

the intelligence of man, for me

too many did abscond

from their true liability

And just ordinary families died
the powers to be denied

them

life there for an eternity.
