An iconic bird in the big scheme of things
The wedge tailed eagle with
The broadest of wings

And recently two men.decided to kill

A vile insecticide
“Methomyl” based
And trying to hide
A large application
Seemingly they
Killed 429 wedge tailed Eagles
That way

Causing an affliction
Respiratory paralysis
a shameful way
Of murdering these birds
Making them pay
A high price for being
And sharing the land
With iniquitous farmers
Who by their own hand

Created a death trap
Such mendacity
In contravention
Such duplicity
I can’t for the life of me
Understand why
humans would do this
See so many die
