TOBY2

We are all facing
Challenging times it is true
And some of us
Honestly don’t know what to do
It’s out of our hands
In a great many ways
And our sensitivity
Really it plays
Havoc with life
As we know it Today
Being aware
Awake to it all
It’s stirs up the senses
It’s easy to fall
One week into lockdown
Massive containment
So much uncertainty
That much we know
Minds working overtime
Changes afoot
The improbability
It is hard put

And all around us
Our relatives are
Very susceptible
So we must star
In our very own drama
Step up to the plate
Use our good judgement
Before it’s too late
Being a Druid
Inflates you a lot
Your have a belief system
And you do not
Fall to bits quickly
For that leadership role
Is not just commercial
For we have a role
To play in the destiny
Of everyone
Starting with our families
We won’t get overrun
Outside our homes
We have forests and groves
We have animal tribes
And it behoves
Us all to be strong
In the face of the weak
Check the mirror each day
And continue to seek
Out the positives
Out there
Work out a way
Of getting to grips
With the shit Everyday
Abandon the negative
Habits and traits
Stand up for the good
Be willing to aid
Karma is with us
We shall be paid

Steadfastness it really
Strengthens us all
It does need discipline
Or we shall fall
We need commitment
And constancy
And an unflagging wealth
To apply earnestly.
Debbie is finding it
Remarkably hard
Paul clearly
Also needs to be on guard
And your role in all this
Is you need to be
A driving force too
With some urgency

I know how hard it is
It is for me
I am on my own
And I write constantly
Poems for people
But animals too
Weak sensitive souls
A lot like me and you
We stand up to the plate
We fight for the weak
I am in pain
It helps that I seek
But it’s not forthcoming
So what I must do
Is go it alone
Fight like hell
With the view
To be a better Druid
For kingdom come
For the animal tribes
And there are some
Feeling the pinch
Needing the care
And people I love
I need to share
My gifts with them
And each time I do
I do get stronger
So you can too

I know it’s not easy
I use to be
Fast
I could run I could jump
I was free
In the last 20 years
Pain came to be
And for all oF this time
My druidry
My will to conquer
The pain constantly
Not one day has passed
When I ever was free

It’s a struggle for sure
But in many ways
The brain it grows wiser
And worthy of praise
When it’s fighting an enemy
A vile disease
Some falter
Some fight
Some fall on their knees

If we fight
Then our finer points
Come to the fore
If we fall on our knees
Inside us there’s a war
Of attrition and hopelessness
And that is no good
So we fight in a quiet way
Because we know we should

We hone our gifts
Be it thinking or writing
Helping or caring or sharing
Inviting
Others to
Tell us
What we can do
Reach out and ask them
And just remain true

To ourselves
For the future
Will always be fine
If we love and we care
And will see the sign
Of virtue and excellence
Of wonder too
And our imagination
Will heighten it’s true
Our eyesight will strengthen
Our olfactory side
And we shall appreciate
And never hide
Our feelings as Druids
Each day we must learn
Build up our brain base
And always concern
Ourselves with others
Study and see
The positives out there
