Shadows come dancing
Bluebells and all
Light infused greenery
At the wooded ball
Vast serenades
Of lustre and blue
Patches of May
Show what Hawthorn can do
Vistas of cerise
Boughs heaving too
With bounteous blossoms
What fragrances do
To the visiting Bee’s
Snuggled up in the power
Billowing blissfully
Hour after hour
Just a great sheet of blueness
Not a cloud anywhere
The leaves kind of ripple
All needing to share
and dance to the rhythm
Of the stillness of time
As it marches before us
Performing this rhyme
My blue dress my aura
My neverness where
I hide in my own self
Wholly aware
Steeped in the imaginary
Faeries and all
The flutter byes and dragon
flies
Who come to call
With their gossamer wings
Mini rainbows I see
crystal reflections
That glint beautifully
All painted by Nature
The mother to be
Who sets out her palette
And discovers it’s me
When I wear my blue dress
I am timeless and I
Am the only one here
And my very own sky
Is above me it’s mine
There is no one about
Just a Rabbit a Deer
And I am in no doubt
There is nothing more beautiful
In this world today
Than the colour of nature
And when I do say
To myself when I am walking
With Olive when she
Sniffs here and there
And we both feel so free
When she looks up at me
I Can comprehend
What she is saying
How she is my friend
Why she loves me so much
And why I love her
Because Of those spells
And really we were
Friends in a past life
Meeting up on this plain
And the dress was a catalyst
And her refrain
Her eyes held so much
Of the care from before
And the love we had lost
On that faraway shore
The glint of the light
On the boughs of the trees
The green wisps that climb
For a reason to tease
A Great Tit is chasing
The insects about
For its babies at home
Who aren’t in any doubt
The are ravenous beasts
Their beaks Begging hard
Whooping and hoping
that soon They are starred
Daddy will come back
His beak full of food
And we can become
His illustrious brood
Wearing my blue dress
And walking my way
Through life thanks to Rex
And his words that all play
Into my future my morrow my way
I feel so much joy
On this fine April day
