Self prescribing when it comes to animals

The frustration and sadness
Of just being poor
Not having the funds
It’s when you feel raw
When emotions are set fine
To question us when
Our pet cat is sickly
Really that’s then
A trip to the vet
Can create quite a pain
A very big bill
That just seems insane
For a quick inspection
A tonic or two
And It may cost Your weekly food bill
Which is true.

Looking after an animal
Responsibility
What you take on
And reliably
What you can afford
At the end of the day
Can you get a loan
Have you moneys to pay

There are PET insurance schemes
And seems to me
They are worth contemplating
Better to be
Paying a little each month
Who when they
Are sick or their injured
The Insurance will pay

Loving an animal
Means that we must
Be responsive to them
Not overly fussed
But aware and in tune
With how they are kept
What they eat where they go
And just how adept

We are to their needs
And what can we afford
Which can present problems
And lack of accord
Vets do charge heavily
Sometimes and they
Expect to have cash paid
at the end of the day
Can cause embarrassment
Things change they do
Life changes constantly
All this is true

So self prescribing
Buying on line
or trying out human drugs
Ofcourse isn’t fine
But it happens and it’s really
Just ignorance here
Coupled with arrogance
And with the fear

That there isn’t the money
So what can we do
It must be a quandry
When people take that view

To self prescribe
Shops sell treatments it’s true
Over the counter claims
It’s what some do
Vet bills are high
And affording them can
Be just over bearing
So what is the plan

Charities set up
To help out maybe
If not it’s frustration
As people can’t see
A way out they can’t afford vets bills
And they
Have to as carers try out their way

In these cases people must
Understand
Ignorance and arrogance
Go hand in hand
No ones a miracle worker it’s true
and animals sometimes die yes they do
And it can cost hundreds of pounds at the vet
And the animal dies
And leaves us in debt

So what do we do
We have to be fair
If we a don’t have the money
Then be aware
We cannot have pets
That’s how it must be
Which is better by far
I hope you’ll agree.
