“Sona” and the street angels Animal aid unlimited

Neglected and there on her own
Lying motionless
On a pavement
Yes in Rajasthan
The street angels they found
“Sona” Apparently peaceful
Alone there on the ground

Clearly a brain injury
No fractures none at all
But still she was unconscious
And unresponsive to our call
Her neurological responses
Were also very low
But we found she had an injury
And dressed it and let her know
We loved her for we stroked her
Calmed her let her be
We fed her with a small syringe
Trying just to see
If we could get some food in her
So very weak poor soul
By the 6 th day she was moving
But hardly in control
But we carried on regardless
Loving her, feeding her we
Will never give up
On our patients
Even an eternity
Day ten she began to try to eat
By herself and she
Found it difficult but kept on trying
A warrior you see
She really was a brave girl
Lapping water too
And she loved it when we cuddled her
Which of course we all do.

6 weeks of intensive care
And she had her first try
She was wobbly she fell over
But got up again and why
She clearly had a great big heart beating
In her chest
She looked around and wanted more
And this would be her test
She continued to fall over
To be wobbly and she
Got so many cuddles
From everyone and we
managed to find a foster home
Who would care for her and she
Is now fully recovered
With her brand new family

They have a lovely garden
And Two kittens both very small
Who play with her
She guides them
And comes when they call
Her joy is so so moving
When we remember how she was
And how she has recovered
Really just because
She was such a fighter
And love and care can be
Miracles they did work here
If all of you could see
She isn’t wobbly anymore
She runs around the place
And joy is written clearly
On her lovely face.
