There she was so desperate
Leaping through a narrow space
She impales herself on an aerial
Through her stomach
We must brace
ourselves
As we inspect her
Head down near the floor
And the only course of action
To slide her off for sure
The agony of doing that
But what else could we do
Suffering the abrasions
The soreness pouring through
Her internal organs open
Hindered by the wire
It must have felt extraordinary
And what is truly dire
Hanging there not wanting
To move an inch at all
It’s kind of chafing ones insides
Something too hard to call
Wanting to surrender
Yet resigned to being there
Almost succumbing to the shock
Of the awe and the despair
“Queenie” shaking violently
From what was Awful pain
And A failure to extricate herself
Feeling Deep in her core
She felt the end was coming
The misfortune to be
In what is a situation
Of severity
We took to the hospital
And sedated her for she
Was clearly shocked out of her mind
And we cleaned her wounds to see
Her willingness to settle
Was good I have to say
Dressed the wounds and made her feel
Comfortable that day
The need was to just love her
Cuddle her and say
Pat and kiss and share
Our thoughts and love with her
Today
She clearly got the message
And realised that we
We all there
To give her a rest and to aid her
Effectively
A month passed and she showed us
Her temerity and hope
All of us took her under our wing
Helping her to cope
And already she was getting better
Really by the day
Tongue out tail a wagging
Looking towards play
