It’s over

Without knowing the meaning
Of joy we experience
Life with our mothers
Idyllic it was
But So many changes
And Humiliation
Come to the family
And it is because
Humans continue
To search in our homelands
Our vulnerability
Seemingly sets
us on a course
To be looking extinction
Straight in the face
Facing down all the debts

The Matriarch power base
Has proven productive
It’s ramifications were weighted
To be
Always protective and thoroughly
Helpful
But as time moved on
Then adversity

Took to the skies
To the forests and valleys
All of the joy we experienced
Left
Us two young elephants
Caught up in life we
Found ourselves sickening
And being bereft

We died in those pools
Disadvantaged and mistaken
Poison was laid
A reckless pursuit
So much insanity
Surrounds the people
Disinformation
Is at its root

We suffered terribly
Duped and forgotten
We were deleted
And left where we fell
There was little will
To work with our spirit
They had a choice
And they wanted to kill

Us, we two elephants
Lost to the country
Leaving our mother
Crying with woe
It is iniquitous
And it is shameful
For in reality
We loved her so
