Fracking hell

Despite the prison sentences
Cuadrilla’s fracking site
Preston new road is not going to plan
Lock on’s left and right
Tripods every which way
Police vans rows and rows
People getting arrested
Just ordinary joe’s

Negative equity
Everywhere
No one wants to buy
A home now
In the sacrifice zone
I mean really why
Would anyone be daft
Enough to risk
The pollution there
Water air and environment
When they are aware

What a filthy business
This fracking industry
Run by loads of ponzi schemes
Fracked out consistently
Given police security
Day in and day out
Our insurances do not cover us
And injunctions too no doubt

The councils here said NO to it
But BIG brother said that they
Could go ahead and sod the locals
Forget all that they say
We want these wells drilled
Everywhere
We have nuclear waste to hide
Voters have no say at all
What will go inside

And so the battle rages on
Despite the seismic stuff
The government is adamant
That they have had enough
Anyone who even
breathes wrongly on the street
We can chuck them in the clanger
Let them feel our heat

And that is what they are doing
Wasting water they
police time hundreds of them
Standing about all day
Having a go at women
Pushing them About
This is what is happening
They are at every shout

Wait for the drills to operate
The heavy trucks and more
Our roads wernt meant for all of this
But then it is a war
Against the local people
And suffer yes they will
And any damage to houses
You know who pays the bill

It wont be fracking corporations
They will turn a blind
Eye to all that hassle
That is when you find
The true nature of all this
Methane in the air
And God knows whats in the water
And so much despair

The courageous men and women
Who are not prepared to stand
By and let these bastards
Just take out the land
Destroy our lovely countryside
And just walk away
Who are ready to try resistence
Whatever they have to pay

Democracy went out the window
Many moons ago
They hold as all to ransom
And most dont want to know
The problem is we are waking up
To The writing on tbe wall
We see it and we are ready
To answer when they call

Look around the world
Do your own research if you will
In the US in Australia
Blowouts and yea and spill
Accidents all over
The environments some lost
Pollution of the air and water
At a considerable cost

We have fought for our precious land
The green and lovely fields
The forests and the farming
And no matter now who wields
The axe we wont be listening
To the lies they tell all day
And when they are finished with us
We know they walk away

And we are left to Take the can.
Well sorry Mr brown
You might have come from BP once
But we live in this town
And we dont want the fracking
it doesnt bring us cheer
We dont want it anywhere
Cant you bloody well hear?
