The use of sweat and blood should never be forgotten

Apparently posterity means little
To the arrogant politicians clearly who
Are rampant in there need to just obliterate
What has become our history good and true
The building of the Great North Road
By prisoners to respect our roots
Back then long before
Realise that it occupies a period
Indelibly part of what is our folklore

The need is there to look back
And to realise from where
We came from and give due respect
To then and be aware
Where we are today
Is built on where we came from, we
Need to respect our ancestors
Who were foundationary
In building up our confidence
Giving us a good head start
We really must remember
The permanence of heart

Its entrenched in all our memories
We endure because we can
Our roots ofcourse weathered by time
Its how we all began
Its how we have developed
The need is there to see
Turning the clock back
And finding our true destiny

Museums remind us of how we got to where we are
Respecting those who came before us
Adding their energy to the future
